THE CREW IS BACK IN PORT!

It’s been far too long since the crew has gathered for a rollicking good time, but the wait is finally over! Thanks to the wonderful folks at Rochester, we’re delighted to return to one of our old stomping grounds for an evening of singing, community, and all-around shanty mischief!

As always, this event is FREE, family-friendly, and open to the public! No experience is required, and you certainly don’t need to consider yourself a “singer” to join in. Whether you know every word to Wellerman or have never heard a shanty in your life, you are welcome aboard! We love creating an atmosphere where everyone can jump in, sing along, and bring their best sailing selves.

And this night is going to be a little different…

We’re going OFF-SHORE, or rather, OFF THE OCEAN!

In addition to some of our favorite traditional shanties like Wellerman and Roll the Old Chariot Along, we’ll be highlighting a collection of work songs from far beyond the ocean. We’re digging into the musical traditions of Appalachia and mining towns, bringing these powerful songs of labor, community, and perseverance to the forefront of our shanty experience.

So gather your crew, bring your singing voice (or just your enthusiasm), and come join us for a night of songs both on the water and off the shore!

We hope to see plenty of familiar faces—and maybe a whole bunch of new ones—at Rochester on Friday, September 18!
